Bradley MoggachWelcome to vote.feds.ca, the site that will be hosting election information during the campaigning period. Bradley Moggach, a member of Team Yellow, is running to become YOUR FedS President. He has proven himself a dedicated and committed student leader on campus. He has focused on investing his time into student's needs and interests to help improve campus life for all students studying at the University of Waterloo. Over the past year, Bradley Moggach has served as the Arts Student Union President and a Don in Village 1, as well as being actively involved with the FedS Internal Administration Committee and many other exciting campus opportunities. In these roles, he has strengthened his leadership abilities and developed a skill set that is directly suitable for the FedS President portfolio. Bradley can provide a strong voice for students and utilize the skill set he has developed through his experiences on campus. Bradley has come together with three very strong candidates to form an Executive Team of student leaders with diversified experiences. Together, Team Yellow has produced realistic and attainable goals to provide the support and representation UW students deserve. On February 9-11, support Team Yellow to become YOUR FedS Executive! Please take a minute and visit our website at http://www.yourfeds2010.ca and if you have any questions feel free to email Team Yellow at yourfeds2010@gmail.com or my personal email at bdmoggach@gmail.com. By focusing on realistic and attainable goals, Bradley Moggach has developed a plan to strengthen YOUR campus, serve as YOUR voice, and be YOUR connection! By strengthening your campus and recognizing the need for study and social space on campus, Bradley Moggach plans to propose a new student services building featuring more financial support from the university and constructing a student advisory board to oversee this process to ensure that student's needs and interests are represented and promoted! Furthermore, as an institution focused on innovation and industry-leading initiatives, sustainability needs to be a serious concern on our campus. By promoting LEED Certification in our construction projects, encouraging our administration to complete the national sustainability survey issued to universities each year, and preserving remaining green space on campus, our institution can continue to remain innovative while fulfilling their commitment to the environment and address any sustainability issues that may be present on campus. Bradley Moggach is also committed to student involvement and consultation in the future direction of our university by working to encourage a revision of the Campus Master Plan and ensuring that student consultation is conducted in these revisions. Serving as YOUR voice on campus and representing student's interests and needs, Moggach will ensure that students get the support they need and this campus remains focused on students. By working with your student Senators, he plans to provide a strong, unified voice for students on important issues, such as the structure of Orientation Week. In collaboration with student Senators, Moggach will play a proactive role in addressing issues and pushing forward with a student-driven agenda in Senate. It is also important to maintain a proactive role on other issues that are outside of Senate but relate to the President's portfolio, such as the recent logo and re-branding initiatives. One of the most important roles of this campus and our university is to re-enforce academic success by ensuring that students have the services they need to succeed. These services include; counselling services, career services, the Office for Persons with Disabilities, and athletics and recreation. As the President and VP Internal sit on the Student Services Advisory Committee, we are committed to working with the committee to give financial support to areas that desperately need it, for example: counselling services and athletics (CIF and PAC). The FedS President is YOUR connection to the Federation of Students, to the administration, and to the municipal government. By strengthening the communications lines between FedS and students, the future successes of both the students and the corporation are ensured. Often times, FedS hosts great events but students are not aware of these events. In addressing this, VPAF Candidate Sarah Cook and Bradley Moggach are proposing to hire a full-time Communications Co-ordinator to ensure that students are aware of the amazing events and opportunities available to them through the Federation of Students. Also, strengthening the connection between FedS and students, Bradley plans to create a student advisory board to oversee the development of a new student services building, overseeing the development of the proposal and ensuring student's needs are met. Bradley Moggach plans to increase student involvement with the Federation of Students by creating more at-large seats on FedS subcommittees. The final two issues of Bradley Moggach's platform to focus on are following through with the voice of students on the results of the long range plan currently being developed and representing students on interactions with municipal government. An example of an issue that would involve the municipal government is the current situation in the Northdale neighbourhood. This issue has seen a great deal of media coverage and moving forward a solution needs to be developed that includes and addresses students residing in this area. Bradley Moggach, as FedS President, plans to improve and maintain YOUR campus, serve as YOUR voice, and will be YOUR connection to student government. On February 9-11, vote Team Yellow (Moggach, Cook, and Best) and support our campaign to become YOUR FedS Executive! For more information, visit yourfeds2010.ca.
